Moving in Nature
Born from a connection sparked at a Queer Ecology workshop at the Brithdir Mawr community, held by Malwen, in the Spring of 2025, Jess Tanner invited me to be part of her MA research project, Moving With Nature. For three days in September 2025, a small group of queer Welsh artists connected and made work on the land at PenPont in the Bannau Breichiniog. Day 1: River. Day 2: Woodland. Day 3: Hill. Prompts and invitations were given. Queerness, ageing, grief, joy, connection, dislocation, softness, and edges were discussed and explored. Rooted in somatic enquiry, eco-therapeutic practice and image making with mark-making tools, writing, photography and film.
A queer, slow, seasonal, emergent collaboration continues.
Day 1 - River. 'Gender Fool at the Waters' Edge.'
Day 2 - Woodland. 'Nature's Adornments: Sparkle and Spit.'
Day 3 - Hilltop. 'Gender fool exploring their edges and strength.'
