Creative Workshop Facilitation
Bad Arty Party
Running through the winter/spring lockdown of the Covid19 pandemic in 2021, Bad Arty Party became an online workshop/gathering with folks with one mission: to make shit art.
Connecting across continents and timezones we met for 2-hours, prompted by simple activities and themes, and a full invitation to MAKE A MESS and be proud of it.
Karn’s Bad Arty Parties have a creative energy that works like reverse psychology. Removing expectation liberates the partygoers to produce some surprising images. Starting with a short meditation, Karn uses skilful and surprising prompts to provoke image and mark making. These can be music, shapes, a series of words, a feeling, or just an idea presented from an unusual angle. They are truly original in their approach and their work. People come to the party from different continents and communities and we all love sharing our outcomes and ideas. It’s a blast, and the images we come out with teach us about ourselves.

Write Club//Root + Write
Running intermittently between 2019 and 2023, this writing group with a twist was held online and in person in Bristol and West Wales. Rooting in the process of writing being a bodily act, and in the outer seasons, each session began with a simple sense meditation, followed by fun, thoughtful and experimental prompts.
My daily writing had become a bit samey - all about stuff I had to do or how I was feeling. WRITE CLUB has injected some creativity and helped me think about why I want to write and how writing practise can support me in living a more present life, with more attention and wonder and everyday magic. It’s also lovely to have a writing community to meet with regularly.
